July 15 Friends List I want to thank everyone who has invited Servant Chat to join their friends list and those who have accepted our invitation to join our list.
Due to some of the recent requests, I feel I must post this disaclaimer. Servant Chat is in no way responsible for the content of Windows Spaces linked via our friends list. Servant Chat maintains a policy of freedom of speech, but within our chat room and forums, we do have rules against certain language and behaviors. As the person who maintains this Space, as I receive invitations to join someone's friends list, I visit each and every space. I'd feel I was violating our own Terms of Service (TOS) if I knowingly linked this Space (the UNOFFICIAL Windows Space for Servant Chat) to any page which would violate the TOS.
The major reasons for me making the determination not to link to a specific Space is because the page contains:
Excessive foul language.
Off-color, racial, or sexual jokes; including jokes putting down any group of people.
Information that can be construed as governmental or religious "conspiracies", especially if there is no verifiable proof.
Anything that will rile up hatred toward people of any religion or group of people.
I'm not trying to impose my beliefs on anyone else. I believe in freedom of speech, but I also think there are kind and courteous ways to make your views known without cussing and coming off sounding hateful. If, at any time, anyone visits one of the Spaces from our friends list and finds any material that falls into one of the above categories, please leave me a message. I'd like to keep the friends list here limited to Spaces which are friendly and inviting to everyone regardless of their religion, nationality, lifestyle, social status, or gender.
Again, this is the UNOFFICIAL Windows Space for Servant Chat. The Servant Chat forums and chat room operate with perhaps a little more leeway in your ability to speak more freely. Feel free to sign up for chat and/or the forums and discuss your opinions and religious beliefs. September 17 How Do I Sign Up?We invite all of our visitors to join us at the chat room and/or forums. We hope to meet you soon. What is Servant Chat?We here at Servant Chat were called by God to share the Gospel with as many people as possible. Jesus himself told the disciples - and we believe this applies to all Christians today - to go into the world and preach the Good News (Luke 16:5). This Gospel, or Good News, is summed up in John 3:16 when Jesus tells us that God loves the whole world and that those who believe in his Son, Jesus Christ, will have eternal life. We are here to be a witness to both believers and non-believers who are searching for answers about this truth. This site was started by seven Christians who were searching for a better way in which to communicate the love of Christ and to help our fellow man. Whether that help is in the form of answering the questions asked by non-believers (2 Timothy 4:2) or teaching and uplifting our brothers and sisters in Christ (2 Timothy 3:16,17), we are here to serve all who enter our chat site. We aren't here to convince other believers that our doctrine is the only truth, for we can only be led to that truth by the guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). Nor are we here to be "Bible thumpers" attempting to force our beliefs on those who aren't Christians. We are here to uplift the name of Jesus Christ and to do as he commanded the disciples to do - to pray for the sick (James 5:15) and to help the afflicted and broken-hearted. Our chat and forums were created as a place for people to chat, make friends, and to learn about the love of Christ and how we should love one another. We believe that a free flow of ideas is important to understanding one another. Our goals can be achieved by providing an atmosphere in which all chatters or forum members feel welcome to discuss any topic. Topics and behaviors are only limited by the rules found within our Terms of Service (TOS). In order to achieve our goals, Servants - similar to other sites' room moderators - volunteer their time to gently guide chatters to remain within the bounds of the TOS. We follow the example provided by our Lord, Jesus Christ, who came to serve man (Mark 10:45). By the standards set in the passages of Mark 10:35-45, we do not serve to gain recognition, money, or power. With that stated, we may still have to ban certain chatters in order to keep this site on track to accomplish the mission set forth. In summary, the mission of our chat and forum ministry is to worship the Lord, evangelize the lost, disciple the saints, encourage the brethren through fellowship, and minister to all of those in need. |
